Welcome to Small Sales Australia. This site is a free for use classifieds site for miniature equines and their needs.

Due to mis-use of this site (by just a few) there have recently been some changes made.

Please read ALL the sections on this page to ensure you are using Small Sales correctly.
Ads that are in the incorrect category, are repeated or are considered (by myself) to be inappropriate for any reason will be removed - no discussion will be entered into and my decision will be final.

Use of Small Sales This board is strictly for advertising MINIATURE EQUINES and thier needs for Sale. Any other kind of posting is considered 'off-topic' and may result in account deactivation or permanent banning from this service.

The following types of posts are 'off-topic' and may result in account deactivation:
- Advertising the same item mulitple times
- Postings not advertising Horses under 11hh for Sale
- Questions or comments regarding an advertisement
- Any kind of personal message to an advertiser (including queries arising from a faulty email address)
- Ads posted for the sole purpose of advertising your website address
- ANY flaming of horses or people

Disclaimer : Small Sales Australia is a tool for all users to advertise miniature equines and related items/services for sale or wanted.

We are not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers.

We have no control over and will not be held responsible for the quality, safety or legality of the items advertised, the truth or accuracy of the listings.

The onus for the success or security of a transaction is entirely with the advertiser or buyer. We have no ability to enforce a sale for either party.

We strongly advice the use of Cash On Delivery when buying items via post.

Fraud Warning : All information you submit to Small Sales is available to ALL internet users. Some organisations and individuals may attempt to use information obtained from Small Sales for fraudulent purposes.

Please be aware of a current scam where people from overseas are trying to collect seller’s bank account and credit card details by offering sums for horses or items which seem too good to be true.

In another common scam a third party supposedly acting on behalf of a buyer tries to purchase horses or items by sending a cashier cheque with a larger sum than the actual purchase price and then asking the seller to refund the difference. Unfortunately this cheque is a counterfeit.

Emails usually come from foreign countries (Nigeria, Africa, China, London and others), are often written in bad English with misspellings and/or represent a third party or client.
These emails may contain the name of the item you are selling, but little other information and will ask no "normal questions" that legitimate buyers ask such as about the health or temperament of the mini etc.

Never give out your bank details etc... buy and sell wisely when using the internet.

Recently we are hearing about Small Sales advertisers taking money, but not producing the items paid for... we STRONGLY suggest the use of Cash On Delivery (COD) payment method when buying via post.

PLEASE let us know if a seller has ripped you off - we can make inquiries and if necessary, ban that user from Small Sales.

Registering : It is necessary to register with Small Sales if you wish to create ads or use the "reply to ad" function.

To Register:

1. Select 'Register' from the menu
2. Complete the required fields
3. Submit your registration by clicking the 'OK' button
4. Small Sales will send you an email within a few minutes
5. Using the link supplied in the email activate your user account

You can now add and update your own ads.

please note that if you supply an incorrect email address you will not receive your Small Sales activation email and therefor will not be able to complete the registration.

Creating Ads

To publish a new ad - you MUST register first.

Once you have registered, log on to Small Sales.
Select the page and then the sub page where you want to list your ad.
Select "Submit ad" on the menu. NOTE: To list an ad on the right page you MUST be on that page when you select "Submit Ad"
Complete the fields as required.
You can include up to 3 photos per ad BUT they MUST meet size restrictions (read more below).
Any photo CREDITS should be included in the description field.

Note: photo names must be ONE word only - if you try to attach a photo with a name like "horse name.jpg" the image will not load, you will get an error... the image must be re-named to "horsename.jpg" (no gaps)
Once you are happy with all the details and photos for your new ad, click the OK button.
Please note your email address will be automatically added to your classified - you only need to submit contact details if you would like people to reply to one other then the email address you used at logon.

IMPORTANT PLEASE do not put the same item or horse on SS more then once per category (you may put a colt with gelding option in 'colt' and 'gelding' for instance, but not in colt twice) - if you are having difficulties removing or updating an ad DO NOT just re-list the ad, contact us and we can help… Those users abusing the site may be banned from further advertising. ANY ads that are listed more then once in a category, will be deleted (all copies).

Updating Ads

To Update an existing ad - you must log on first.

Go to "My Ads" on the menu - it will list all current ads you have.
Select the Title of the required ad, it will open.
Click on "modify" at the top right of the ad.
Make changes as necessary.
Submit the ad with the changes by clicking on OK.

Occasionally Small Sales will not allow you to replace images in an existing ad. If this happens you can re-try, or re-create a new ad or email and ask us to remove or replace the images for you.

Deleting Ads

To Delete an existing ad - you must log on first.

Go to "My Ads" on the menu - it will list all current ads you have.
Select the Title of the required ad, it will open.
Select "Delete" at the top right of the ad.
You will be asked if you want to delete the ad, click OK to completely delete this ad.

NOTE: Feel free to put a SOLD sign on an ad for up to a week after selling, but please remove the ad after a week.
Do not put "Withdrawn" or "Retained" on ads - REMOVE these ads as soon as the item is no longer for sale!

Images CAN NOT be over 40KB each - That means photos should be saved at a low resolution.

WHY do we have a size limit????
ALL websites have a limit on the amount of space they can use (to save information and images) and the amount of information users can view (bandwidth).
Every time you submit an ad (or an update) you re-send the images and details to the SS website…

Every time you view a page or image you are using bandwidth allocated to SS.

Our hope is to allow as many ads as possible and as many users as possible to use SS without being hit with extra fees for this usage (REMEMBERING that SS is a free site to the users) - We as SS admin pay for the site and any excess usage, relying heavily on Sponsorship to cover this cost.

ALSO The bigger the image the slower it is to download on the viewers computer, while many users have broadband these days, there are still MANY that rely on dial up, some users will often give up on slow loading large images and you could miss potential sales.

If you are having trouble reducing the size of your images, please email us, we can reduce the photo for you.

Naming Conventions: photo names must be ONE word only - if you try to attach a photo with a name like "horse name.jpg" the image will not load, you will get an error... the image must be re-named to "horsename.jpg" (no gaps).

SS will reject the photo if it is too big or named incorrectly, you will get an error when you submit the ad.

Can't update/delete your ads?
I am finding a lot of users have registered more then once with SS... under different user names... then they can not update ads as they are using the wrong log in. PLEASE Ensure you register ONCE only to save confusion. If you need help removing a logon registration, please email us.

Can't change images...
Occasionally SS gets a bug, where it will not allow users to replace existing images on an ad. If you find this happening, please email us and we can remove the existing image(s) for you to then place new images.

Get an error when trying to attach an image

Photos must be under 40kb (see photo information) or you will get an error.

Can't remember your password
If you have forgotten your password, use the "logon" screen to request a new password.
Small Sales will send you an email with a password AND a link to Small Sales.
You MUST follow the link to enter your new passowrd - this activates the new password. If you do not follow the link your new password will not work.
You can then change the password using the "Change password" menu option.
