
Its true that miniature equines are physically just smaller versions of non-mini equines, but when it comes to health and happiness there are some big differences, some health problems that are common in minis are rarely seen in bigger equines and vice versa.
For instance minis can be more prone to teeth problems because, while their jaws are much smaller then bigger horses, their teeth are not that much smaller, another example is hyperlipemia - so rarely seen in large horses that many owners don't know what it is - but sadly a lot more common in minis... Some feeds suitable for larger horses is not suitable for minis... the list goes on.
