Silver Bay :

Silver bay is a bay horse carrying silver.
The body colour may lighten somewhat (that is the effect on the black pigment remaining in the body coat), but the black points will lighten a lot…

A lot of foals have light legs and or under bodies as a form of camouflage, and silver bays also have light legs.

Because of the lighter legs, and light main and tail, many Silver Bay are mistakenly identified as Chestnut. If you look closely at silver bays, they do have
slightly darker legs. The colour of the lower leg is a very important part of identifying horse colour.
