Re-using those feed bags...

GRANDFATHERS can always find a use for old feed bags (and baling twine). Mine always wants my jute bags to use when fishing - both to keep his fish in and for burley, he uses the other types of bags to wrap around his tow bar to stop people getting oil on them, to cover the electrical connections of his caravan and trailer when not using them, and he will use them to store just about anything.

So here is a list of all the things you can use your old feed bags for...

  1. cut into strips to mark wire fencing (flags)
  2. Tack dust cover
  3. gumboot/dirty boots bag
  4. car boot liner
  5. weed sack - drag it rather than lumping a wheelbarrow around
  6. jute bags - drape them over your horse as a cool down rug or a drying rug
  7. filled with some hay or sawdust could make good beds for pest such as dogs, rabbits ect
  8. Musical Sacks game at Gymkhanas/parties
  9. use them to take feed to horse shows etc
  10. fill with manure and give away or sell
  11. Use as a dust sheet when doing harness in the dust
  12. Use them to get your horse used to noise and scary "things"
  13. To store baling twine
  14. as garbage bags
  15. Use it to keep horse treats in
  16. bin liner
  17. Wrap them around exposed hoses and pipes to prevent freezing in winter
  18. A foot mat in your car on those muddy days after mucking about in the paddock
  19. To carry wet/dirty rugs in
  20. Make jump fillers from them
  21. Use it to carry recycling to the tip
  22. To soak hay
  23. Stand your horse on it to apply hoof polish, keeps the black off the ground if your on concrete and keeps the grass and dirt off the hoof while it dries
  24. weed liners in the garden, they will break up over time.
  25. Use them to pre-mix your feeds for a week at a time - saves time in the early mornings and evenings at dinner time.
  26. Protection for young trees from rabbits, wind and frost
  27. Store your whipper snipper in them to prevent wasps making nests in the working "parts" and ruining your snipper.
  28. Filled with sand they could make practice jumps
  29. Cover the top row of your hay supply with them to prevent weather damage from sun through doorways and windows

DO you have more ideas??? send them in.
