Paddock feeding hay

We all know horses should be fed at ground level, but when feeding hay this can lead to horses eating dirt or sand and to lots of hay being wasted.

So when feeding my horses hay I use foam rubber off-cuts to put the hay on.
I buy large pieces of rubber off-cuts from
Clark Rubber for about $20 a piece.

When in their yards I weigh the rubber down with their rubber feed buckets, in the paddock I weigh them down with bricks or rocks on the corners - this prevents them being blown across your paddock in the wind.
